My Life Now

Hi Folks, Thought I'd try my hand at this "blog" business and let you all know what's been going on with me. I finally got my "Generation Bridge" guitar instrumental CD released in 2012. This collaboration with family and friends turned out great and has been doing well for me.

2013 started off with a recording session in Austin, Texas with Ms Dayna Wills. The Cd entitled "Look Who's Back", was produced by Janet Lyn and was recorded at Wire Recording Studio with engineer,Stuart Sullivan. This was a fun project with some very talented musicians. For those of you who don't know, Dayna is the niece of Western Swing great, Bob Wills. You can check out the CD on Dayna's web site.

In May, I was diagnosed with colon cancer. It was in the early stages and after having surgery, I have been cancer free for a year and a half now.

After the cancer scare, I decided to retire from my job as an A/C Tech at Ft. Polk, LA and return to my music career permanently.

I started freelancing and traveling with my wife, Wanda. We are finally spending time together and loving it. The gigs really started coming in and I am back in the swing of things.

I began playing permanently with a Southeast TX based group, Linda Kaye and The Kool Katz, while still with the two local Leesville, LA bands; The Wink Perkins Band and The Brent Perkins Band, and doing appearances with bands in the Austin and Houston areas.

2014 started off with a bang! While doing a Christmas show in Granger, TX with Bubba Cox and The Can't Hardly Playboyz, I met a very talented young lady named Jade Jack, who just happened to be doing a recording session in early January, being produced by Justin Trevino at Heart of Texas Music studio in Brady, Texas. We became instant friends and she invited me to play guitar on her new CD along with some of the best players in the business. Jade's CD, "For The Record" is available at www.jadejack.com.

Then in February, a friend of Jade's (Kimberly Murray) liked what she heard on Jade's CD and invited me to play on her latest release. We recorded in Orange, TX at the lovely home of Kimberly and her husband, Bob Manning. You can find Kimberly's latest CD, "A World Away", at her website, www.kimberlymurraymusic.com.

Time marched on and we have become so busy that Wanda and I decided to buy a small motor home to travel in so that we can make the gigs.

I've just recently become a permanent member of the Can't Hardly Playboyz at the Cotton Club in Granger, TX and have a recording session coming up with Keith George at Wire Recording Studio in Austin. Looking forward to working with Stuart Sullivan again.

We have made lots of new friends and caught up with a lot of old ones and are looking forward to a great 2015. Hope to see all of you sometime on the road.
